Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, analyzed Russia's share of global diesel exports at the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, which was held to discuss energy security and counter unilateralism. Zelensky stated that Russia's share in the global diesel market is negligible, pointing to the consequences of this decrease and its impact on the energy security of exporting countries.
Analysis of Russia's Share in the Global Market
Zelensky noted that Russia's share of global diesel exports has sharply declined in recent years due to sanctions and market structure changes. This issue is significant not only for Russia but also for countries seeking to diversify their energy supply. According to Zelensky, this decrease in share could create new opportunities for other diesel-exporting countries.

Consequences for Energy Security
Zelensky further referred to the consequences for energy security arising from Russia's reduced share, stating: "We must move towards sustainable and diverse energy supply. This will help gas-exporting countries reduce dependence on a specific source." He also called for greater cooperation among gas-exporting countries to strengthen global energy security.
Prior to this forum, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Vice Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, had also announced that he would travel to Russia to participate in the gas exporters' forum. He mentioned meeting with Vladimir Putin and other participating leaders, stating that the goal of this trip is to strengthen bilateral relations and energy cooperation.
Considering recent developments in the global energy market and sanctions against Russia, it seems that gas-exporting countries need to seek new solutions to strengthen their position in the global market. Zelensky emphasized the importance of this issue and called for closer cooperation among gas-exporting countries to address upcoming challenges.
