The national energy consumption management program has entered its operational phase by the order of Masoud Pezeshkian. This action is aimed at ensuring sustainable energy supply and overcoming the upcoming winter without serious challenges. The main goal of this program is to maintain the production cycle and prevent restrictions on gas supply for industries.
Details of the Energy Consumption Management Program
At this stage, the management and executive capacities of the provinces have been activated, and a mechanism for real-time monitoring and evaluation of the performance of agencies will be implemented. The participation of economic and public sectors in implementing energy-saving and optimization programs has been seriously prioritized.

A coordination meeting on energy consumption and fuel management was held with the presence of Masoud Pezeshkian and other government officials on November 7, 2026. Pezeshkian, while appreciating the efforts of the managers of executive agencies, emphasized that by continuing this trend, winter can be passed without problems in supplying gas to industries.
Monitoring and Evaluating Agency Performance
In this meeting, the President outlined the operational energy consumption management program at three levels: executive agencies, the economic sector, and the public. He emphasized the necessity of converting guidelines into executable and measurable actions and called for the establishment of a mechanism for continuous monitoring of agency performance.
Pezeshkian also stressed the formation of a daily and real-time monitoring room for agency performance and said: "Managers must eliminate wastefulness and excessive consumption from the agencies and offices under their management." He introduced measures such as reducing the temperature of office rooms and improving boiler houses as essential solutions for managing energy consumption.
Collaboration of Various Sectors to Achieve Goals
The President also pointed to the necessity of cooperation and collaboration of the economic sector with the government in providing energy for industries and said: "Industries must include energy saving and optimization in their programs." He called for regular meetings with active economic players and industry owners to clarify the country's conditions and outline solutions.
Pezeshkian concluded by emphasizing that public and social institutions' participation in energy consumption management is very important. He referred to the role of NGOs and Basij in this regard and called for clarifying the special conditions of the country to the public.
