Tehran's urban management has initiated actions aimed at reducing fuel and energy consumption, especially following the damages caused by the imposed war. Alireza Naderi, spokesperson for the Tehran City Council, has elaborated on these measures in discussions with the media.

Making Public Transportation Free

Naderi stated that to save on gasoline consumption, the public transportation system, especially the metro and rapid buses, will be provided for free. This decision was raised in joint meetings of the Tehran City Council with officials from the Ministry of Oil and will continue until the announcement of the end of the war by the Supreme National Security Council.

Energy Saving Programs

Reducing fuel consumption and collaborating with the government in managing energy imbalance is considered a key priority for urban management. Naderi said: "An energy and power headquarters has been established in Tehran Municipality to pursue energy-saving measures in households and private businesses." These actions are part of joint efforts between the government and Tehran Municipality to better manage energy conditions during the winter season.

Addressing Issues with the Shahrzad System

Furthermore, Naderi referred to the problems faced by some citizens in using the Shahrzad system for purchasing essential goods and registering identity information. He stated: "With the commencement of the zero inflation plan, requests have significantly increased, and issues such as identification codes and national codes of some citizens have been identified and are being reviewed and resolved."

Strengthening Community Resilience

Naderi emphasized that in the current situation, strengthening community resilience is of high importance, and Tehran's urban management is striving to increase hope among citizens through supportive measures. He noted that these plans could serve as a model for other metropolises, and the President has also stressed the necessity of pursuing these actions in other major cities.

Monitoring Implementation of Plans

Naderi concluded by saying: "Feedback received from citizens has been positive, and a more precise and formal evaluation of these plans should be conducted by the responsible units." He expressed hope that with improved conditions, community resilience would increase and better management would be achieved in meeting the needs of the people.
