Seyed Mousa Mousavi, the representative of Lamerd and Mehr counties in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, emphasized the necessity of gas consumption management during the cold season and spoke about the challenges facing energy supply in this season. In an interview with the House of Nation reporter, he described the current gas supply situation as concerning, referring to the damage to four South Pars refineries and the accumulation of energy imbalance.
Reduction in Gas Production Capacity Due to Recent Incidents
Mousavi explained the characteristics of the challenges facing the country's energy sector, adding: "These damages have caused a significant reduction in the operational capacity for gas production and processing during peak cold and high demand conditions." This member of parliament stressed that, given the government's absolute priority to maintain home heating, the pressure of this imbalance will be imposed on manufacturing industries and power plants.

National Campaign and Savings Solutions
He announced the launch of the “20” degree campaign aimed at raising collective awareness and said: "Simple individual decisions can create significant national impacts." Mousavi referred to the plan to grant pre-savings certificates that allow energy service companies to implement consumption reform projects. This plan enables households to receive high-efficiency heating equipment without incurring costs.
Mousavi emphasized that "the Energy Commission of the Parliament, as a specialized overseer, is seriously pursuing the implementation of the provisions of the Seventh Development Plan, especially Article 46." He stressed the necessity for the government to adhere to legal provisions and create economic incentives for subscribers, stating that the revenues from savings could help strengthen the energy infrastructure of provinces.
This member of parliament concluded by emphasizing the need for a comprehensive strategy for gas consumption management and diversifying the country's energy portfolio, stating: "Industrial and agricultural sectors need logical and transparent prioritization during gas shortages to prevent strategic production shocks." Mousavi noted that the Energy Commission will continuously monitor readiness for a safe passage through the upcoming cold months.
