Bower Offshore has acquired ownership of the Songa Commander supply vessel from the Blystad Group. This vessel, built in 2010, has been renamed Bower Commander and is part of Bower Offshore's strategy to create an independent fleet of marine vessels.
Transaction Details
The financial details of this transaction have not been disclosed, but Bower Offshore has been managing this vessel commercially and technically for the Blystad Group since 2023. The vessel was built at the Hellesøy shipyard and is currently under a drilling support contract with Adura until July 2027, with an option to extend the contract.

Bower Offshore's Strategy and Goals
Bower Offshore's CEO, Karl Johan Bakken, stated that this acquisition represents the company's strategic move towards establishing a fully owned fleet. He added: "This acquisition is another step in our strategy for growth with our own tonnage and continuing to develop an integrated shipping company in the marine energy market rooted in the Norwegian maritime cluster."
Bower Offshore operates six vessels in the marine energy market, including oil, gas, and renewables in European waters. The company aims to expand its operations and enhance support for marine projects in the region. Additionally, the crew of the Bower Commander will continue their work, and the vessel's facilities will contribute to improving marine services.
