Ahmadi, a member of the Energy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, announced the plans of this commission for managing gasoline consumption and said: Our policy is to move towards the use of personal fuel cards and bank cards, and the station fuel cards will gradually be collected.
Formation of a Special Working Group to Review Gasoline Status
In an interview with Radio Economy, Ahmadi referred to the discussions about new changes in gasoline rationing and prices and stated: We have formed a working group and a special committee in the Energy Commission to review the status of gasoline and have invited experts, specialists, and scholars to present their views and solutions.

He added: A very good report has been presented to the commission in this regard, and I have also reviewed some articles and studies that provide various solutions for managing the gasoline situation.
Using Personal Fuel Cards and Bank Cards to Control Smuggling
Regarding the government's policy on the use of fuel cards, Ahmadi said: The policy we are pursuing in the commission and which has also been considered in the seventh development plan is to direct consumers towards the use of personal fuel cards and bank cards. The use of personal fuel cards and bank cards can be effective in preventing and combating smuggling; because transactions and consumption levels will be traceable, and it will be clear who used fuel and with what card.
He emphasized that in the matter of gasoline, unofficial statements should not create shock in society, stating: Some comments are made that individuals may perceive as the government's or the parliament's opinion, while they may only be a personal opinion of an individual; therefore, in this area, information should be communicated carefully and through official channels.
Planning for the Development of Bank Card Usage
Regarding the timeline for the general implementation of bank card usage at fuel stations, Ahmadi said: Last week, we invited the Deputy Ministry of Economy, which is active in this area, the National Oil Refining and Distribution Company, the Fuel Consumption Optimization Organization, and related entities, and held a meeting on this subject.
He added: Initially, the use of bank cards started as a pilot in a few stations and then expanded, and now this plan is being planned and implemented in about 3,000 stations. It has been decided that next week, the use of bank cards will become widespread in all stations.
Ahmadi also commented on the limitations of using the third-rate gasoline quota, stating: Limitations have been considered for the bank card, but policymaking in this regard is ongoing, and the government also has its specific program. A member of the Energy Commission of the parliament regarding the change in the third-rate gasoline price said: Our perspective in the Energy Commission regarding the price increase was different, but the government decided to raise the third-rate price. What I am mentioning is the policymaking and vision that is being pursued in the Energy Commission.
