The Chairman of the Energy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly responded to rumors circulating on social media by providing new details about the status of gasoline rationing and fuel consumption management programs.

Fuel Consumption Management Programs

Ahmadi, the Chairman of the Energy Commission of the Parliament, elaborated on the status of gasoline rationing in a radio program, stating: The Energy Commission, by forming a special working group and holding continuous meetings with the Ministry of Oil, the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, and the Organization for the Optimization of Energy Consumption, is seeking to develop expert solutions to prevent smuggling and optimize fuel consumption.

Key Dates and Implementation Stages

He referred to the timeline of this plan, adding: The process of organizing fuel has been defined in three stages. The first stage was implemented as a pilot in a number of stations, and in the second stage, the expansion of this plan was carried out to 3,000 stations. According to the planned arrangements, it is intended that next week the use of bank cards will become widespread at all fuel stations across the country.

Ahmadi emphasized regarding the rumors about reducing the gasoline quota of 1,500 tomans from 60 liters to 30 liters: "We are not looking to create a shock to society, and we do not confirm the unofficial news that has been published. Our main policy is to manage consumption through smart tools so that by recording transactions, precise monitoring of consumption can be facilitated and fuel smuggling can be prevented."

This official also clarified in response to concerns about the limit on fuel filling with bank cards: "There are no specific restrictions on using bank cards for refueling, and the rumors regarding the 100-liter limit on 10,000 toman gasoline are not true."

Ahmadi noted that these actions are in line with the seventh development program of the country, and the ultimate goal is to gradually collect the free cards of the stations and replace them with personal and bank cards to create transparency in the fuel distribution network.
