Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has recently signed an agreement to acquire Evos B.V., a liquid storage operator based in the Netherlands, for €2.56 billion (equivalent to $2.88 billion). This agreement allows the company to gain significant influence in the energy and fuel storage market in Europe.

Details of the Acquisition

Under this agreement, Adani will acquire 100% of Evos's shares from Igneo Infrastructure Partners. Evos is recognized as the second-largest independent liquid storage operator in Europe, with eight terminals located in ports across the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Belgium, and Malta.

The facilities have a combined storage capacity of over 6.3 million cubic meters and support 452 tanks, 63 anchorage points for ships and barges, and extensive pipeline networks. The terminals are located in key energy hubs in Europe, including the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp region and Hamburg.

Increasing Capacity and Product Diversity

In 2025, Evos managed 37 million tons of liquid cargo, including gasoline, diesel, marine fuel, and jet fuel. The company also deals with emerging fuels such as sustainable aviation fuel, biodiesel, methanol, and bioethanol.

This acquisition will significantly aid in the international expansion of Adani, and upon completion of this agreement, the company’s global footprint will increase to 28 ports and terminals in 10 countries. Karan Adani, CEO of APSEZ, stated that Evos is a sign of the company’s progress towards managing one billion tons of cargo and creating a global integrated transportation platform.

In 2025, Evos achieved strong performance with revenues of €392 million and EBITDA of €219 million, reflecting a margin of 56%. Adani announced that this business maintains an average commercial occupancy of 99% and derives a significant portion of its revenue from long-term contracts.

This agreement also allows Adani to play a larger role in the evolving European fuels market, where demand for alternative marine and aviation fuels is growing. Adani Ports, as the largest private port operator in India, is continuously expanding its international operations through investments in port and logistics infrastructure.
