The plan to increase the gasoline quota in 12 provinces of the country has started from the first of November to manage consumption and prevent fuel smuggling. This plan is being implemented on a trial basis in the operational areas of the National Oil Products Distribution Company.

Details of the New Plan

A quota of 50 liters of 10,000 Toman gasoline, in addition to the general quotas, has been allocated to fuel cardholders in the provinces of Yazd, Kerman, East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Miandoab, Kurdistan, Razavi Khorasan, North Khorasan, South Khorasan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Hormozgan, and Bushehr. This action is designed to optimize fuel consumption management and reduce the likelihood of fuel smuggling at the borders.

Implementation of the Plan

Reza Hajihosseini, the head of public relations at the National Oil Products Distribution Company, announced that this plan will be implemented in these provinces starting from the first of November. Vehicle fuel cardholders in these areas will benefit from 60 liters of monthly quota at a rate of 1,500 Toman and 50 liters of 3,000 Toman fuel quota, in addition to 50 liters of excess at a rate of 10,000 Toman. Furthermore, fuel station cards in these areas will be usable in a more limited manner than before.

Hajihosseini also mentioned that this plan will gradually expand to other parts of the country. Given the positive results of the trial implementation of this plan, its main goal is to manage fuel consumption and prevent fuel smuggling in border areas.

He further referred to reports of queues forming in some areas and stated that in Kerman province, where this plan was initially launched on a trial basis, the queues have been collected, and with proper management, similar problems will be prevented in other provinces.
