Seyed Mohammad Atabak, the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, during his visit to one of the country's steel industries, pointed out the importance of developing and securing financial resources for this complex and stated that energy imbalance must be managed in a way that does not hinder production and industrial investment.
Concerns About Water Consumption in Steel Industries
He referred to the concerns raised about water consumption in steel industries, stating that this complex has addressed these worries by utilizing wastewater and investing in water purification and recycling. Atabak emphasized that this unit does not use water resources from the province to meet its water needs, thus preserving water resources.

Impact of Energy Imbalance on Production
The Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade further stated that the issue of energy imbalance and limitations in electricity supply is the biggest challenge for producers. A factory designed to operate for about 320 days a year, when it can only produce for about 150 days, naturally loses a significant portion of its revenue and resources needed for the renovation and modernization of its production lines. Atabak noted that the frequent stopping and starting of production machinery due to energy imbalance, especially in steel units, not only reduces production but also increases maintenance and repair costs and leads to equipment depreciation.
Necessity of Completing the Production Chain
He also emphasized the necessity of completing the production chain of this complex, stating: "We should not view production units in isolation from the production chain. Production is a national issue, and disruption in one part of the chain affects the revenue and added value of other parts and the economy." Atabak referred to the President's directive regarding securing electricity for industries, adding that according to this directive, electricity supply to industries should not be cut in a way that disrupts their production activities.
Managing Energy Imbalance
In conclusion, the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade emphasized that the continuation of energy imbalance is not only economically detrimental to the country but also incompatible with the goal of completing production chains and strengthening large industries. Therefore, imbalances must be managed in a way that, while maintaining network stability, does not harm production and industrial investment.
