Ahmadi, a member of the Energy Commission of the Parliament, announced the start of the fuel management plan in three phases and emphasized that there is no plan to reduce the 1500 Toman gasoline quota.
Three-Phase Implementation of Fuel Management
Ahmadi, speaking on Radio Economy, referred to the status of gasoline rationing and future plans for consumption management, stating that the Energy Commission, by forming a special working group and holding continuous meetings with the Ministry of Oil, the National Oil Refining and Distribution Company, and the Energy Consumption Optimization Organization, is seeking to develop expert solutions to prevent smuggling and optimize fuel consumption.
He also explained the timeline of this plan, adding that the fuel management process is defined in three phases. The first phase was implemented as a pilot in a number of stations, and in the second phase, the expansion of this plan was carried out to 3,000 stations. According to the planned schedule, it is expected that next week the use of bank cards will be generalized at all fuel stations across the country.
Denial of Rumors about Gasoline Quota Reduction
In response to rumors circulating on social media regarding the reduction of the 1500 Toman gasoline quota (from 60 liters to 30 liters) and sudden price changes, Ahmadi stated: We do not seek to create a shock to society and do not confirm the unofficial news that has been published. Our main policy is to manage consumption through smart tools so that by recording transactions, precise monitoring of consumption can be achieved and fuel smuggling can be prevented.
Ahmadi also emphasized regarding concerns about the limitation of refueling with bank cards: There are no specific restrictions on using bank cards for refueling, and the rumors regarding a 100-liter limit on 10,000 Toman gasoline are not true.
He noted that these actions are in line with the seventh development plan of the country, and the ultimate goal is to gradually collect the free cards of the stations and replace them with personal and bank cards to create transparency in the fuel distribution network.
