Ramazan Ali Sangdovini, the representative of the people of Gorgan in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, pointed to the gas imbalance challenge in the country, especially in the northern provinces, and said: "The country has faced gas imbalance before, and the damage to production facilities has exacerbated this situation." He emphasized the necessity of efforts to manage gas consumption to ensure the energy needs of subscribers across the country are met.
Impact of Gas Consumption in the Residential Sector
Sangdovini, referring to the impact of increased gas consumption in the residential and commercial sectors on the fuel supply for power plants, added: "Increased gas consumption in these sectors may lead to greater use of liquid fuel by power plants, which has environmental consequences in some areas."

Returning Damaged Capacities to the Production Cycle
He reported on the actions taken to strengthen the energy supply chain and stated: "According to officials' statistics, a significant portion of the gas production capacity of the damaged South Pars refineries has returned to the production cycle after compensating for the damages." Sangdovini also mentioned the operation of two refineries with a total capacity of 180,000 barrels by the end of the year, noting that the Persian Gulf refinery adds 15 million liters to gasoline production and 5 million liters to diesel production.
He considered maintaining comfort temperature in buildings as one of the important strategies for reducing consumption and said: "The comfort temperature in workplaces and public buildings should be between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius." Sangdovini warned: "If the consumption pattern is not corrected and gas consumption continues to exceed actual needs, there is a possibility of tension in gas supply for some provinces."
Saving Certificates; Economic Tool for Managing Gas Demand
The representative of the people of Gorgan and Aq Qala in parliament, referring to the capacities of the seventh development plan for managing energy consumption, said: "Issuing saving certificates is one of the important tools in this area, and by offering the amount of saved gas in the energy exchange, the groundwork for implementing this plan can be prepared." Sangdovini emphasized: "The entry of contractor gas companies provides a new opportunity to create balance between energy resources and consumption."
He expressed hope that the National Iranian Gas Company and Tavanir Company would facilitate the rapid implementation of contractor company contracts. According to him, the implementation of this plan does not impose specific financial burdens on the government, and the executing companies will cover their costs from the revenues generated from savings.
