Ramazan Ali Sangdooni, referring to the existing challenges in gas supply during the winter season, emphasized the importance of saving and maintaining comfort temperatures as key actions in energy consumption management. He stated that the country is facing an imbalance due to enemy attacks on gas production facilities, and this issue requires collective cooperation for consumption management.
Return of gas production capacities to the cycle
Sangdooni further referred to the reports from officials and said that a significant portion of the gas production capacity of the damaged South Pars refineries has returned to production after compensating for the damages. Additionally, two new refineries with a total capacity of 180,000 barrels will be operational by the end of the year, which can have a positive impact on energy supply during the winter season.

The necessity of reforming household consumption behavior
He emphasized that overcoming the winter requires collective cooperation, noting that the responsibility for consumption management is not solely on the executive bodies, and every household, office, and production unit must play a role in this regard. Sangdooni also stressed the importance of maintaining comfort temperatures in work and public environments, stating that the appropriate temperature should be between 18 to 20 degrees Celsius.
This member of parliament also pointed out the consequences of increased gas consumption in the residential sector, saying that this increase may lead to greater use of liquid fuel by power plants, which has environmental repercussions. He stated that if consumption patterns are not reformed, there is a risk of gas supply tensions in some provinces.
The role of service companies in demand management
Sangdooni highlighted the importance of using modern economic tools in demand management, referring to the anticipated capacities in the seventh development plan for issuing saving certificates. He stated that the entry of service companies into this field would provide an opportunity to create a balance between the country's energy resources and consumption, and reforming consumption patterns can effectively manage the country's energy needs.
He also explained the financial and supportive mechanisms for implementing this plan, stating that it does not impose any specific costs or financial burdens on the government and will be beneficial for the implementing companies from the savings revenues. Sangdooni ultimately emphasized the necessity of facilitation by the National Gas Company and Tavanir to expedite the execution of contracts related to service companies.
Sale of surplus energy and reduction of costs for households
He further referred to the plan for granting pre-saving certificates to service companies, stating that these companies will sell surplus energy in the energy exchange from the savings achieved. This action not only helps optimize energy consumption in the country but can also lead to a reduction in household costs in the current difficult living conditions.
