Pezhmanfar, referring to the imbalance of gasoline in the country, called for activating CNG capacities as an alternative fuel. With the gradual implementation of the third gasoline rate, the use of CNG can reduce some of the pressure on gasoline consumption.

High capacity of CNG and its low consumption

Pezhmanfar stated that the country has a daily supply capacity of 40 million cubic meters of CNG, while the current consumption is only about 16 million cubic meters. This gap indicates the underutilization of this capacity.

He emphasized that by returning dual-fuel taxis to the CNG consumption cycle, up to 5 million liters per day could be reduced from the country's gasoline consumption. Pezhmanfar also stressed the need to reform economic and administrative barriers to the use of CNG.

Situation of ride-hailing taxis and converting them to dual-fuel

Pezhmanfar discussed the ride-hailing taxi fleet, stating that about 75,000 vehicles are active in this fleet, with a monthly mileage of over 4,000 kilometers. According to him, these vehicles should be prioritized for conversion to CNG to be used as a second fuel.

The head of the Parliamentary Commission on Article 90 emphasized securing financial resources for converting about 300,000 vehicles to dual-fuel and called for expediting this process. He stated that bureaucratic hurdles should not hinder the implementation of this plan.

Payment of claims from CNG industry activists

Pezhmanfar further referred to the claims of CNG industry activists, which total 3.5 trillion tomans and have not been paid for nearly a year. He stated that despite the President's emphasis, the payment process for these claims should be expedited.

He also called for resolving the remaining 1.5 trillion tomans of overdue claims and stressed that these payments should be made regularly so that workshops and activists in this field can continue their activities without interruption.
