Brigadier General Abdolreza Abed announced the operation of the Persian Gulf Mehr Refinery by the end of Shahrivar and emphasized that this project is nearing the final stage in increasing the country's gasoline and diesel production capacity.
Immediate Actions After the Bombing of Oil Warehouses
He referred to the bombing of the oil warehouses in Shahr-e Rey and the importance of this facility in supplying fuel to various regions of the country, stating: After this incident, specialized teams immediately arrived at the site and necessary actions to manage the situation began. Brigadier General Abed mentioned that about 24 hours after the incident, coordination with the Ministry of Oil and the refining sector was organized, and the mobilization of forces and fire control were carried out swiftly.

Increase in Fuel Production Capacity
Brigadier General Abed also referred to the production capacity of the Star Persian Gulf Refinery, which currently produces about 45 million liters of gasoline daily. He stated that with the operation of the Persian Gulf Mehr Refinery, the total gasoline production capacity of these two refineries will reach 58 million liters per day. In the first phase of this refinery, 13 million liters will be added to the gasoline production capacity and 4 million liters to the country's diesel production capacity.
Brigadier General Abed continued: Increasing gasoline production capacity in these refineries can reduce the country's need for gasoline imports and prevent dependency on foreign resources. This action is being taken at a time when the country is facing challenges arising from sanctions and economic conditions, and there is a need for sustainable fuel supply for people's travels, especially during peak travel times.
Ultimately, Brigadier General Abed emphasized the importance of this project in strengthening the country's self-sufficiency and stated that with the operation of the Persian Gulf Mehr Refinery, the country's internal capabilities in fuel production will increase, and dependency on imports will decrease.
