A cumulative solar power plant in the heart of the Bidgol desert, with a capacity of one megawatt and aimed at empowering 200 underprivileged families, has been established in memory of Martyr General Gholamreza Soleimani. This project emerged from the efforts of General Soleimani and the participation of families, symbolizing economic empowerment and social cooperation in the energy production sector.
The Story Begins with the Families' Request
The story began when 200 underprivileged households from Aran and Bidgol approached the Basij Construction Jihad Headquarters to enter the field of electricity production and create a sustainable source of income. These families faced a serious obstacle; many of them did not have a suitable and standard building or space for installing a solar power plant. As a result, the idea of transferring the power plant from the rooftops of houses to a shared land was proposed to enable community participation in energy production.

The request from the 200 families was sent to the office of Martyr General Gholamreza Soleimani. General Soleimani approved the establishment of a solar power plant in the "Resistance Economy Village of Martyr Jihadists at the Quds Camp in Bidgol" and provided special facilities for the participation of these families. After registering the applicants in the Meharsan system and introducing them to banks, the implementation process of the project began with the cooperation of the Basij Resistance District and the Development Jihad Headquarters.
Establishment of the First Supportive Cumulative Power Plant
The result of the efforts made was the formation of a supportive cumulative solar power plant, recognized within the Basij organization as a new experience in empowering underprivileged families. The first phase of this power plant, with a capacity of 500 kilowatts, was connected to the electricity grid, and subsequently, with the implementation of the second phase, an additional 500 kilowatts was added to its capacity, bringing the total capacity of the power plant to one megawatt. In this project, 200 households are members and shareholders of the "Pioneers of Success Cooperative Company in the Desert," and their participation in solar electricity production forms part of the revenue-generating model of the project.
The goal of this project is not only to produce electricity but also to create income for underprivileged families and reduce the pressure caused by energy imbalance. This model was designed to gather the capacity of families who could not install a power plant at their residence, thus turning the lack of a suitable rooftop from an obstacle into a starting point for participation.
Results and Social Impacts
Now, with the implementation of the second phase of this project, the capacity of the power plant has reached one megawatt, with 200 households participating. This power plant not only contributes to energy production but also serves as an economic opportunity for the families. The participating families are satisfied with the implementation process of the project, and this project reminds them of the efforts of Martyr General Soleimani.
Given the geographical location of Aran and Bidgol and the bright sun of the desert, this power plant has become an economic capacity. This project demonstrates the pursuit and support of underprivileged groups in utilizing natural capacities to create sustainable income. Ultimately, this project will remain as a lasting memorial to Martyr General Gholamreza Soleimani in the heart of the Bidgol desert.
