Ali Ghasemi Nejad, Deputy Director of the Public Participation Attraction Office of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA), announced that currently more than 150 megawatts of solar power plants have been established in the country's industrial parks. These power plants are mainly located in 800 industrial parks and zones that include small industries.

Details of Power Plant Construction

Ghasemi Nejad referred to the actions taken regarding the establishment of solar power plants in these parks and stated that due to the scattered nature of these actions, solar power plants may have been established in almost all parks. However, the number of these power plants is higher in some cities and lower in others.

He added that so far about 70 megawatts of these power plants have been installed on the roofs of the industrial park warehouses. Additionally, lands that were previously designated for various industries are now being made available to investors for the establishment of solar power plants.

Successful Projects and Challenges

Ghasemi Nejad also mentioned the existence of specialized solar energy parks and stated that the Ministry of Energy, in collaboration with various organizations, has been pursuing projects in this area. Among these parks are the Shal Park in Qazvin, Khusf in South Khorasan, and Rayin in Kerman. These projects are currently in the final stage of connection to the power grid.

The Deputy Director of the Public Participation Attraction Office of SATBA emphasized that the development of solar power plants in industrial parks is of great importance, as these parks suffer the most from electricity imbalance. Given the frequent power outages in some of these parks, the establishment of these power plants can help mitigate the negative effects caused by electricity imbalance.

Ghasemi Nejad concluded by noting that higher capacities for the establishment of solar power plants are also being reviewed and licenses are being issued, and if better facilities are provided by the government, investors can advance their projects more quickly.
