Mohammad Mo'tamedi Zadeh, a member of the Board of Directors of the Article 90 Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, announced the signing of over 100 contracts with contractor companies in 29 provinces of the country for energy consumption optimization. These actions are taking place at a time when the country is facing the challenge of gas imbalance and reduced production as the cold season approaches.

Challenges Ahead in Energy Supply

The country is facing a serious challenge in the energy sector as the cold season approaches. The reduction in production and gas imbalance, which had previously existed, has been exacerbated by enemy attacks and war, resulting in the loss of over 230 million cubic meters of gas. In such circumstances, efforts to restore damaged facilities and optimize consumption have become one of the main priorities of energy management.

Development of Contractor Companies and Savings Certificates

Mo'tamedi Zadeh explained the follow-ups carried out, stating: Moving towards consumption optimization and activating contractor companies was a serious need that we pursued. Good progress has been made in this regard. By pursuing the issuance of consumption certificates and previous savings certificates, the necessary groundwork for the private sector's entry into the field of consumption optimization, especially in residential units, has been provided.

These companies enter the field with their own investment and costs and earn profits from the saved energy; because these savings certificates are tradable on the stock exchange. The implementation of these projects has started within the framework of the obligations of the seventh development plan and has had tangible results in various provinces.

Mo'tamedi Zadeh also pointed out the reduction of the financial burden on citizens, stating: The entry of these companies will allow actions such as double-glazing windows, which are costly for people, to be carried out without imposing costs on families, and the profits of the companies will also be directly sourced from the saved energy.

Overcoming the energy bottleneck in the upcoming winter requires cooperation from household subscribers and managed resource distribution. Mo'tamedi Zadeh emphasized that we have a tough winter ahead and hope that by advancing the programs and cooperating with the people, we can get through this winter with minimal damage.
