Mohammad Alahdad emphasized the necessity of reforming energy governance and public participation to face the upcoming challenges during a joint meeting with the Vice President and the head of the Organization for Optimization of Energy Consumption and Strategic Management.

Serious Damages to the Electricity Industry

Alahdad, detailing the dimensions of the damages inflicted on the electricity industry following recent developments, stated: Unfortunately, serious damages were inflicted on 4,500 power plants and over 2,000 points in the country's electricity distribution network. He added: With the round-the-clock efforts of our colleagues at Tavanir Company, the reconstruction and network readiness for the summer consumption peak was achieved in the shortest possible time, and with the valuable cooperation of the people, this difficult period was successfully overcome.

The Necessity of Reforming Consumption Patterns

The CEO of Tavanir stated that the per capita and average energy consumption in the country is very high compared to regional and global standards, emphasizing: For the upcoming winter, which faces severe limitations in gas infrastructure and heavy heating consumption loads, we must reform consumption patterns with effective participation across all sectors. He referred to a unified approach to the gas and electricity chain and the possibility of fuel transfer between power plants as fundamental strategies to overcome this challenge.

Energy Savings Certificate Project

Alahdad also referred to the definition of optimization projects based on issuing "energy savings certificates" and stated: The nature of the country's large electricity network requires that its domestic consumption be at conventional standards. Accordingly, network losses have been prioritized as the first step in the agenda of the 55 electricity distribution companies in the country. These companies are required to define specific projects to renew outdated equipment and reduce network losses.

The Role of the Public in the Energy Economy

The CEO of Tavanir emphasized the importance of public participation in optimization and savings projects, stating: Citizens can participate in these projects, sell their saved energy in the form of related certificates, and benefit from its financial advantages. Achieving this will provide a tremendous capacity for demand management and turn imbalance into a sustainable opportunity.

In this meeting, the capacity for cooperation between Tavanir Company and the optimization organization in implementing efficient electricity industry projects, especially in reducing technical and non-technical network losses, was emphasized. The development of these collaborations can pave the way for more efficient use of resources and enhance productivity in the country's electricity network.
