The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has reached an agreement with the Ministry of Oil to ensure winter fuel supply for industries. Reza Ansari, the deputy of this ministry, announced to reporters during a visit to a production unit related to home appliances in Mashhad that one of the main concerns of industrialists this year is the sustainable supply of fuel.
Details of the Fuel Supply Agreement
Ansari stated that considering the forecast of gas shortages in the second half of the year, negotiations have been held with the Ministry of Oil that have led to agreements to reduce challenges for production units during the cold seasons. He added: The initial agreement with the Ministry of Oil is based on supplying fuel to industrial and mining units at the level of last year's consumption and has been implemented well so far.

Furthermore, Ansari referred to the second agreement, which stipulates that 750 million liters of fuel will be stored in the months of Shahrivar, Mehr, and Aban and sealed for the second half of the year to be distributed and consumed during the cold months. This action is taken to ensure the continued operation of industries under challenging economic conditions and to prevent production stoppages.
Challenges in Securing Currency for Raw Materials
The Deputy Minister of Industry also pointed to the challenges in securing currency for importing raw materials. He stated that necessary collaborations with the Central Bank have been made, saying: "Direct trading in the gold and currency exchange center" has been one of the effective methods in this area. Ansari also reported progress in the area of currency from exports and emphasized that the ministry's priority is to secure raw materials for producers.
He added: Securing raw materials for producers is currently a priority, and efforts to resolve other priorities are also on the agenda. Ansari also emphasized the need to support home industries, stating that these industries have not yet reached the necessary maturity and need support.
Suggestions for Improving Oversight of Economic Managers
Ansari suggested that oversight of the performance of economic managers be entrusted to the Islamic Consultative Assembly. He expressed that managers have lost the ability to make decisions on economic issues due to fear of oversight bodies. Ansari proposed that if oversight bodies present their reports on managers to the Assembly, managers could make decisions on economic matters with greater authority.
During this visit, the Deputy Minister, along with members of the Industries and Mines Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, visited an industrial unit in Mashhad that operates in the field of home appliance production. During this visit, the second phase of refrigerator production at this unit officially began, and its production capacities and challenges were examined.
