Hosseini Imami-Rad, a representative of the people in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, warned about the fuel situation in the country on the brink of autumn and winter and emphasized the necessity of fuel consumption management. He stated that the natural increase in energy consumption during these seasons necessitates the start of a national jihad for saving.
Importance of Energy Consumption Management
Imami-Rad noted that the energy issue in the country is not limited to fuel production and supply. In the cold months of the year, along with the increase in household consumption, the needs of power plants, industries, and production units must also be met. Any unnecessary consumption can put more pressure on the country's energy network. He referred to the experiences of previous years, which show that with the onset of cold weather, gas consumption significantly increases.

Jihad for Saving and Cultural Promotion in Schools
The representative of Chenaran, Torqabeh-Shandiz, and Golbahar in the Assembly emphasized that the jihad for saving does not mean limiting and reducing people's welfare, noting that this jihad should aim to prevent energy waste and reform consumption patterns. Imami-Rad also stressed the importance of the readiness of agencies before the onset of the cold season and stated that schools, as centers for cultural promotion, should turn proper energy consumption into a daily behavior.
He added: "Schools are, on one hand, energy consumers and, on the other hand, one of the most important centers for cultural promotion. It is necessary for the issue of proper energy consumption to become a daily behavior in schools, and students, as ambassadors of the culture of saving, should transfer this behavior to their families."
Imami-Rad also pointed out the importance of reducing waste and increasing efficiency, stressing that saving should not come at the cost of cooling classrooms or harming the education process. He emphasized the need for equipment reform and smart consumption management, stating: "Due to outdated and inefficient technologies in industries and buildings, the per capita energy consumption in our country is 2.5 times the global average."
This representative of the people in the twelfth parliament concluded by noting that the deficiencies are the result of past policy-making and that with the correct policies of the government, bright horizons for energy optimization have opened up. He emphasized the need for a real jihad for saving that starts from management and government agencies and continues in industries and economic sectors.
