A member of the Energy Commission examined the electricity supply situation in winter considering the increased demand and the challenges that may arise in gas delivery to power plants. It is predicted that with a significant increase in gas consumption, some power plants may face difficulties in receiving fuel.
Challenges in Fuel Supply for Power Plants
In winter, due to lower temperatures and increased heating needs, energy consumption, especially gas, rises sharply. This increase in consumption can put more pressure on gas supply, resulting in disruptions in gas delivery to some power plants. This situation can have serious impacts on electricity production and consequently, on the provision of lighting and heating for consumers.
