Cheniere Energy has signed a 22-year agreement with Petrobras to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG). This agreement, which addresses the supply of approximately 0.8 million tons of LNG per year, will help strengthen energy infrastructure between the Gulf Coast of the United States and Brazil's energy network.
LNG Agreement Details
The sales and purchase agreement (SPA), which was concluded by Cheniere Energy's subsidiary, Cheniere Marketing, allows Petrobras to purchase LNG on a free on board (FOB) basis. This agreement will last for 22 years and will contribute to increasing stability and certainty in the energy market between the two countries.

Economic and Commercial Implications
Jack Fusco, President and CEO of Cheniere Energy, stated that this agreement further strengthens Cheniere's position as a leading global LNG supplier and will also help create a stable and predictable cash flow. Given that the global energy market is seeking stability in the current volatile conditions, this agreement could have positive impacts on the capacities for converting natural gas to LNG in the future.
Cheniere Energy has recently reached a significant completion milestone in the third phase of its LNG conversion facilities in Corpus Christi, Texas. This advancement signifies an increase in LNG production capacity and improvement in global energy supply.
Petrobras is also looking to strengthen its energy capabilities and has recently made discoveries of hydrocarbons in the Morpho well in the deep waters off the Amazon coast. These discoveries reflect Petrobras's efforts to increase domestic energy resources and reduce dependence on imports.
