The Swiss company Transocean has recently signed a new contract worth approximately $80 million for the drilling vessel Deepwater Conqueror off the coast of Equatorial Guinea. This 170-day contract is dedicated to drilling two wells for an undisclosed operator and is set to commence in 2027.

This project will directly follow the current contract of the drilling vessel Deepwater Conqueror in the Gulf of Mexico. Transocean has stated that this new contract will help strengthen its project portfolio and lead to an increase in its workload in the near future.

Features of the Drilling Vessel Deepwater Conqueror
The drilling vessel Deepwater Conqueror, built in 2016, has the capacity to accommodate 240 people and can drill to depths of up to 40,000 feet (12,192 meters). This vessel is capable of operating in water depths of up to 12,000 feet (3,658 meters), making it one of the most advanced drilling vessels in the world.
According to Transocean's fleet status report last month, this vessel has also recently received an extension for a two-well contract with an undisclosed operator in the Gulf of Mexico until January 2027. This indicates a sustained demand for deep and advanced drilling services.
Currently, Transocean's total project backlog amounts to approximately $6.7 billion, and the company continues to strengthen its position in the global market by providing drilling and support services to various operators in the oil and gas industry.
