The proposal to extend the deadline for attracting capital asset and financial credits of the 2024 national budget has been submitted to the Speaker of the Parliament by 46 members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly. This action has been taken to address existing problems in attracting credits and to facilitate the implementation of construction projects.

Justifications for the Extension

In the justifications for this proposal, members of Parliament have pointed to limitations arising from critical conditions, disruptions in construction activities, internet outages, and the failure of some systems related to transactions and tenders. These factors have led to delays in holding tenders and reduced the ability to attract credits. Therefore, extending the deadline for attracting credits has been presented as an unavoidable necessity.

Details of the Proposed Plan

According to the proposed single article, the deadline for attracting capital asset and financial credits of the 2024 budget, including cash and securities such as treasury bonds and participation bonds, will be extended until the end of October 2026. Additionally, if this proposal is approved, the remaining unused funds of these credits must be deposited into the Treasury of the country by November 10, 2026, at the latest. The deadline for submitting the final statement of receipts and payments has also been set until the end of November 2026.

This proposal is currently presented in the form of a suggestion, and the extension of credits will be subject to legal procedures and its approval. Representatives believe that this extension can help accelerate the implementation of construction projects and improve the status of attracting credits.
