Ahmadi, a member of the Energy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, in an interview with Radio Economy, discussed potential changes in gasoline rationing and prices, stating: a working group and a special committee have been formed in the Energy Commission to examine the status of gasoline, and experts and specialists have been invited to provide insights and solutions for managing consumption.
Comprehensive report and new policies
He added: a comprehensive report has been presented to the commission, and he himself has reviewed some articles and studies related to solutions for managing gasoline consumption. Regarding the government's and parliament's policy on the use of fuel cards, Ahmadi said: the policy being pursued in the commission and addressed in the seventh development plan is to direct consumers towards using personal fuel cards and bank cards.

Impact of using bank cards
Ahmadi continued: using personal fuel cards and bank cards can be effective in preventing and combating smuggling; as transactions and consumption levels are recorded, it becomes possible to monitor consumers and identify who used fuel with which card. He also warned about the dissemination of news related to changes in gasoline and stated that unofficial statements should not cause shock in society.
According to Ahmadi, some statements may be made by individuals but do not necessarily reflect the government's or parliament's views and may even just be a personal opinion. Therefore, information about gasoline should be communicated carefully and through official channels.
The member of the Energy Commission of the Parliament also discussed the latest status of implementing the bank card usage plan at fuel stations, stating: last week, representatives from the Ministry of Economy, the National Oil Refining and Distribution Company, the Fuel Consumption Optimization Organization, and related entities were invited, and a meeting was held regarding this plan. He added: the use of bank cards initially started as a pilot in a few stations and has since expanded. Currently, this plan is being planned and implemented at about 3,000 stations.
Ahmadi announced: it has been decided that next week the use of bank cards will be generalized at all stations. Regarding the limitations on using the third-rate gasoline quota, he stated: there are restrictions in place for using bank cards, but policymaking in this area is still ongoing, and the government also has its specific plans. He discussed the possibility of changing the third-rate gasoline price, saying: the Energy Commission's perspective on price increases was different, but the government decided to raise the third rate. The member of the Energy Commission of the Parliament concluded by emphasizing that what he presents is the policymaking and vision being pursued in the Energy Commission.
