Hossein Jamshidi, the Taybad governor, announced in a meeting dedicated to examining the issues of fuel supply to the Iranian and foreign freight transport fleet at the official Dogharoun crossing that the majority of smuggling cases at this border are related to fuel. He emphasized that this issue requires the use of all capacities to prevent fuel smuggling towards Afghanistan.

Necessary Actions at Dogharoun

The Taybad governor added: "The Municipalities Cooperation Organization of Khorasan Razavi, as the contractor, is responsible for the precise control process of fuel for the Iranian and foreign freight transport fleet at Dogharoun." He also referred to the role of skilled and capable human resources in this process and urged the cooperation organization to pay special attention to this matter.

Jamshidi stated that providing the necessary infrastructure and facilities to combat fuel smuggling by the responsible national, provincial, and local authorities at the Dogharoun border is essential. He emphasized that fighting fuel smuggling is one of the most important priorities in this region.

Priorities in Combating Fuel Smuggling

Dabiri stated: "The use of smart systems and the implementation of some legal processes have led to the distribution of fuel needed by various sectors in the province based on actual needs." He also referred to the reduction of fuel consumption in some areas and said that this indicates the success of the actions taken in this regard.

The Dogharoun Special Economic Zone, located 18 kilometers from the city of Taybad and adjacent to Afghanistan, is considered one of the top five economic terminals in the country. The transit activities of this region mainly include goods from Afghan, Pakistani, and neighboring country traders that are transported to this crossing via Bandar Abbas.
