Petrobras, the Brazilian state energy giant, has recently expanded its offshore activities by signing new contracts on the shores of the Republic of Ivory Coast through its subsidiary, Petrobras Netherlands BV (PNBV). The company has signed production sharing contracts (PSC) for eight exploratory blocks to develop oil resources.
Details of the Contracts and Exploratory Blocks
The contracts include the blocks CI-513, CI-600, CI-601, CI-602, CI-603, CI-605, CI-701, and CI-702, located off the coast of this African country. Petrobras will operate these blocks with a 90 percent share, while the remaining 10 percent belongs to Petroci. These agreements allow Petrobras to operate in areas with high potential for oil and gas exploration in the equatorial margins of Africa.

Petrobras' Advances in West Africa
These contracts are a continuation of Petrobras' recent efforts to expand its operations in the oil and gas frontiers of West Africa. In particular, Petrobras is negotiating for four exploratory blocks in the Keta basin in Ghana. This strategic expansion allows Petrobras to participate in one of the world's growing and high-potential oil markets.
With these actions, Petrobras aims to strengthen its position in the global oil and gas industry and capitalize on new opportunities in emerging markets. These contracts not only help create added value for Petrobras but can also contribute to the economic development of Ivory Coast.
By signing these contracts, Petrobras positions itself as a key player in Africa's energy industry and seeks to discover and exploit new resources in the region. These actions reflect Petrobras' willingness to increase production and presence in new global markets.
