The Ministry of Education has implemented a new policy aimed at reducing school closures. Rezvan Hakimzadeh, the Deputy for Secondary Education at this ministry, emphasized the importance of preserving students' learning time and has examined the educational conditions in the country, stating that the educational time in Iran is less compared to many other countries.
Delegation of Authority to Regions
Hakimzadeh stated: "This ministry has become the decision-making authority regarding school closures, so instead of nationwide closures, decisions can be made according to the conditions of each region." This action aims to increase educational days and reduce the negative impacts of closures on students' learning. He added that the conditions of provinces and even different areas within a province can vary and decisions should be made according to the conditions of each region.

Examining the Effects of School Closures
Hakimzadeh also referred to a research report from the Educational Studies Research Institute, which examined various factors of school closures and analyzed their impact on energy imbalance. According to this report, school closures do not significantly reduce energy imbalance, and therefore, decisions regarding such matters should be made with greater caution.
He noted that in many other countries, even in conditions of air pollution, schools continue to operate, and this comparison can help our country reconsider its decision-making. According to Hakimzadeh, "Schools should be the last place to close," and this requires cultural development in society.
In the context of managing educational time and preventing unnecessary closures, Hakimzadeh emphasized the necessity of cultural development and reconsideration of certain policies, stating: "If we provide the necessary training and reconsider our consumption behavior, we can prevent school closures." This new approach can help improve educational conditions in the country and increase students' learning time.
