Mohammad Sadegh Mo'tamedian on Tuesday, September 24, on the sidelines of the inauguration of a solar power plant in Tehran province, considered the development of renewable energy as one of the government's serious policies. He stated that given the climatic conditions of Tehran province, solar power plants are the main focus of renewable energy development in the province, and the governor's office is fully prepared to provide land and facilitate the implementation process of these projects.
New Records in the Construction of Solar Power Plants
Mo'tamedian, referring to the operation of a power plant that was constructed in 10 days, added: This record is the result of the collaboration of the government, the Tehran governor's office, and investors, and the efforts of the involved parties for the rapid implementation of solar energy projects are commendable. He continued: In addition to providing land, in the area of electricity connection and transmission, based on the framework of laws and regulations, the distribution companies, regional electricity companies, and Tavanir are ready to assist investors.

The Governor of Tehran emphasized that the speed of action by investors in securing financial resources and necessary equipment, including solar panels, structures, and energy conversion equipment, is also very important. Mo'tamedian, referring to the government's policy of using renewable energy to address energy imbalance, said: The discourse that the President started at the beginning of the 14th government regarding the development of renewable energy has today turned into a major movement for the construction of solar power plants across the country.
Future Steps and Development Plans
He added: At the beginning of the 14th government, only about 23 megawatts of solar power plants had been constructed in Tehran province, but today the capacity has exceeded 400 megawatts, and our estimate is that if nothing unusual happens, in the coming months the capacity of solar power plants in the province will reach about 1000 megawatts.
Mo'tamedian, referring to the volume of ongoing projects, stated: Over 7,000 megawatts of permits for the construction of solar power plants have been issued in the province, and the administrative processes, land acquisition, and contract signing for these projects are underway. Currently, about 1,500 megawatts of solar power capacity is also under construction in various parts of the province, and with the completion of these projects, the capacity for solar electricity production in Tehran will see a significant increase.
