New Pacific Company has launched its first shipbuilding program by constructing two 122-foot tugboats for American Marine Corporation at its facilities in Washington's Virginia. These vessels, designed by Glosten Marine Design and Engineering, are recognized as the first new construction for American Marine in celebration of the company's fiftieth anniversary.

Bob Shahnazarian, President and Owner of American Marine, stated: "As a company that has been around for half a century, our first new tugboat is a symbol of a milestone and an investment in the next generation of our operations." He continued: "We were looking for a team that could effectively manage our operational needs from design to construction and delivery, and New Pacific and Glosten provide that continuity throughout the program."

History of New Pacific's Manufacturing Facilities
New Pacific operates in a historic location on the banks of Virginia's Washington, which was previously part of Kaiser Shipbuilding. This facility is now dedicated to building modern vessels and heavy industrial work, situated alongside the Columbia River. The company, led by CEO Joe Cruelly and in collaboration with other executives, has over 90 years of experience in building commercial and government vessels.
Joe Cruelly added: "The project to build our new tugboat represents a simple idea: complex projects require experienced individuals and capable infrastructure. The start of this construction program alongside American Marine and Glosten demonstrates the application of this model from day one."
New Pacific's facility, covering over 180,000 square feet, supports shipbuilding, heavy industrial manufacturing, and integrated program offerings. This facility features high-ceilinged construction spaces, heavy crane capacity, and access to rail and barge for large-scale marine projects.

Glosten provides the design and engineering package for the tugboat based on the CT-120 concept developed for towing long loads and challenging marine operations. This design has been optimized according to the specific operational needs of American Marine.
Peter Sully, Business Development Manager at Glosten, expressed: "American Marine was looking for a modern tugboat designed for towing challenging loads at sea. This tugboat must provide real operational capabilities for decades. The CT-120 design gave us a strong starting point, but this is truly an American Marine tugboat, and we worked closely with their team to provide a design that aligns with their experiences in towing deep-sea loads."
