Rahmatollah Salimi, at the meeting of the Energy Headquarters in Kermanshah Province held on Thursday, emphasized the importance of cooperation among agencies and community organizations for energy consumption management and stated that the energy imbalance is not limited to this year's conditions, as the country has faced this challenge in previous years as well.
He stressed that the damage inflicted on infrastructure has increased the importance of managing and saving energy consumption. Salimi also referred to the extensive capacities of the IRGC and Basij in social, cultural, and service sectors and called for the utilization of these capacities for cultural promotion and reforming consumption patterns.
Need for Reforming Energy Consumption Patterns
The CEO of the Kermanshah Gas Company stated that reforming consumption patterns must become a public culture, saying: If we can save just 10 percent in the residential sector, it will enable better management of gas supply for large industries such as petrochemicals in winter. Salimi also emphasized the change in lifestyle and increased energy consumption in recent years, stating that it is necessary to strengthen the culture of optimal energy use in families through education and information dissemination.
Programs of the Energy Headquarters and Promoting Optimal Consumption
Brigadier General Masoud Ghanbari, Deputy Commander of the IRGC of Hazrat Nabi Akram (PBUH) in Kermanshah, further pointed out the necessity of utilizing community capacities to overcome challenges in the energy sector and stated: Cultural promotion regarding optimal consumption should begin from families, schools, and offices. Ghanbari added: Continuous planning, monitoring, and follow-up in reforming consumption patterns are essential, and all cultural, social, and community capacities of the province must be employed to achieve this goal.
He also emphasized the need to pay attention to high-consumption subscribers and encourage low-consumption subscribers, announcing that the secretariat of the headquarters should monitor high-consumption subscribers and facilitate dialogue and invitations for them to reform their consumption patterns. Additionally, incentives for low-consumption subscribers should be communicated to encourage others to adhere to the correct consumption pattern.
At this meeting, it was decided that the Energy Headquarters of Kermanshah Province would be formed with the aim of coordinating the capacities of the gas company, IRGC, and Basij for energy consumption management and preparedness for the cold season, continuing its meetings every 15 days.
