The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company, Saeed Tavakkoli, explained the measures taken to prepare the country's gas network ahead of the cold months of the year, stating that all necessary repairs and actions to enhance the stability of the network have been carried out in various sectors, including refineries, transmission networks, pressure boosting stations, and distribution networks. Tavakkoli expressed hope that the gas network would enter the cold months of the year as planned, referring to the efforts made for reconstruction and debris removal and the return of 100 million cubic meters of gas to the supply cycle.

Energy Imbalance and Gas Supply Stability

Tavakkoli pointed to energy imbalance and its impact on the stability of gas supply in some provinces, saying: Several provinces are sporadically affected by gas stress, and three provinces are facing more severe conditions. To maintain stability in other provinces, the rearrangement of the network and the implementation of planned technical and procedural measures have been scheduled. He explained that the country's gas network functions like the body's blood circulation system, and by implementing alternative lines, creating bypass routes, and changing operational arrangements, we strive to keep the affected areas as stable as possible.

Development of Operational Scenarios and Planning

The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company emphasized the importance of gas supply in the northern provinces of the country, adding: Given the position of these provinces at the end of the supply chain and their greater vulnerability in conditions of imbalance, coordination among the National Gas Company, provincial governors, and other responsible agencies has been prioritized. Tavakkoli continued that various operational scenarios and necessary executive programs for actions assigned to the National Gas Company and the responsibilities of other agencies have been developed. Providing alternative fuel for power plants and other necessary sectors is one of the important topics of this planning.

He also mentioned the possibility of gas supply limitations in critical conditions, stating: For all scenarios, from the worst-case to more realistic conditions, alternative plans have been anticipated, and these actions are being pursued in the provinces in coordination with the governors. Tavakkoli emphasized the role of the public in managing energy consumption and called for avoiding excessive gas and other energy carrier consumption. He noted that the high intensity of energy consumption in the country makes consumption management one of the effective factors in reducing pressure on the network and helping to ensure sustainable energy supply, especially in the northern provinces.
