Capital Tankers, supported by Evangelos Marinakis, has signed a 15-month contract for one of its modern suezmax tankers. This contract, which is expected to generate revenue between $73.1 million and $82.2 million, reflects the significant growth of the company in the global energy market.

The 155,348 deadweight ton tanker Amor, built in 2026 in China, has been leased to an unspecified global energy company. Tanker Market Trends
This contract has been signed at a time when the oil tanker market is experiencing significant growth, and owners are looking to lock in their revenues instead of taking risks in the spot market. Since its listing on the Oslo Stock Exchange earlier this year, Capital Tankers has been rapidly expanding and has raised approximately $500 million to support its new tanker construction program.
The company has also successfully secured $930.3 million for the construction of 11 VLCC tankers currently being built in China and South Korea, indicating progress in financing its expanding fleet. The agreements pertain to shipyards Hanwha Ocean, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co, and Hengli Shipbuilding.
Currently, Capital Tankers has 33 tankers, including 15 VLCCs, 10 suezmax tankers, and 8 aframax/LR2 tankers. Of these, 17 tankers are currently trading, and 16 new tankers are planned to be added to the fleet by 2028, with options for 13 additional tankers as well.
