ATE Energy International Co., Ltd. and Synergy Marine Group are pleased to announce the arrival of the new vessel OCEANUS 1 in Taiwan. This vessel is designed as a new asset for marine infrastructure projects and offshore energy in the Taiwan Strait and broader regions.

Management of the OCEANUS 1 Vessel

The management of the OCEANUS 1 vessel, including technical and personnel management, will be conducted by Synergy Marine Group through offices based in Taiwan and the region. Mermaid Subsea Services (Thailand) Ltd. will be responsible for managing projects related to the cable installation operations of this vessel, subject to the awarding of contracts and finalization of related projects. The ATE Subsea Cables Department will oversee the cable installation activities and the deployment of the vessel.

Features of OCEANUS 1

OCEANUS 1, as a cable installation vessel under the Taiwanese flag, has been established to dual standards by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and CR Classification Society. This vessel is equipped with a 30-meter diameter cable carousel and a loading capacity of up to 8,000 tons of cable. Additionally, it features DPS-2 capability, a 250-ton hydraulic frame, plowing capability, and an SMD Quasar III class ROV. The vessel can accommodate up to 77 marine personnel and project specialists, facilitating cable installation, monitoring, and underwater activities during marine campaigns.

Role of OCEANUS 1 in Marine Projects

Dave Gibson, head of the ATE Energy International Co., Ltd. Subsea Cables Department, stated, "OCEANUS 1 provides the capability to install dedicated cables for Taiwan and is designed to operate under the conditions of the Taiwan Strait. This vessel enhances our ability to support offshore energy projects and underwater infrastructure in Taiwan, giving us the flexibility to serve other opportunities worldwide."

Ejay Chaudhry, co-CEO of vessel management at Synergy Marine Group, also emphasized that "OCEANUS 1 will spend long periods at sea, where station maintenance, machinery reliability, and crew experience are all critical to what can be achieved. Our Taiwan and regional teams have collaborated with ATE since the vessel's delivery, and we will support this vessel with the same diligence we bring to every vessel under our management. We appreciate the trust that ATE has placed in us."
