Qatar Energy Renovation Plan
The mentioned contract is contingent upon the signing of the final agreement. Qatar Energy, as the field operator, is planning a major renovation project to enhance and extend the operational life of this field. PTSC M&C has been selected as the key contractor for this renovation program. This initiative is part of Qatar's energy security program and aligns with the country's recent contracts for liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies in the United States.
The Maydan Mahzam oil field is located about 100 kilometers northeast of the coast of Qatar and 28 kilometers southeast of Halul Island, at a water depth of approximately 40 meters. This field, along with its nearby field, Bul Hanine, was discovered in the 1960s and has been in production since 1965.
Aker Solutions executives stated in a statement: "This contract represents the strength of our engineering organization and our long history of delivering complex offshore projects. Our team in Kuala Lumpur has extensive experience in offshore oil and gas, complemented by the capabilities of our office in Mumbai and the entire Aker Solutions organization. We are committed to supporting the successful execution of the Maydan Mahzam project."
