The French company TotalEnergies signed a supply contract for over 16,000 tons of pipe products with its compatriot Vallourec for the Absheron gas field in Azerbaijan. This contract demonstrates TotalEnergies' confidence in Vallourec's ability to provide advanced piping solutions for complex energy projects.

Contract Details and Supplied Products

The contract pertains to the Absheron gas field located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. Vallourec is required to supply oil country tubular goods (OCTG) and piping solutions. In the OCTG sector, the company will provide high-quality pipes equipped with VAM connections. Additionally, in the piping sector, approximately 159 kilometers of corrosion-resistant pipe will be supplied for use in onshore and offshore projects.

Development of the Absheron Field and Production Capacity

The Absheron gas field is located about 100 kilometers southeast of Baku and is being developed at a depth of approximately 500 meters underwater. This field has an annual production capacity of up to 6 billion cubic meters of gas and 47,000 barrels per day of condensate. The produced gas will be supplied to the domestic market of Azerbaijan and exported to other countries. This project is considered a significant step in meeting the growing gas needs in Azerbaijan and the region.

Philippe Guillemot, Chairman and CEO of Vallourec, stated that their selection for the Absheron project reflects customer confidence in the company's ability to provide advanced piping solutions. This choice also highlights the strength of Vallourec's global industrial infrastructure and its value-added technologies.
