The Director of Telecommunications in Semnan Province, Engineer Hamidreza Rahimi, announced a reduction of 36,000 kilowatt-hours in energy consumption at this institution during a meeting with Karim Alaei, the Governor of Sarakhs. This reduction in consumption is the result of implementing energy management programs carried out this year.

Advantages of Migrating to Fiber Optics

Engineer Rahimi elaborated on the advantages of migrating from copper networks to fiber optics during this meeting, stating that the cost of migrating each subscriber from copper to fiber optics is covered by telecommunications, with approximately 25 million tomans spent on this process for each subscriber. The subscriber will only pay for the modem. According to him, the access speed on fiber optics can be up to 80 times faster than on copper, which significantly enhances service quality and meets user needs.

Challenges of Electricity Imbalance and Its Effects

The Director of Telecommunications in Semnan Province also referred to the issue of electricity imbalance, describing it as one of the challenges affecting the stability of communication networks. He stated that electricity imbalance has immediate effects and long-term consequences on telecommunications equipment. Backup batteries are designed for a limited number of charge and discharge cycles, and frequent use due to power outages reduces the lifespan and efficiency of the batteries and leads to equipment wear.

Rahimi also reported on measures taken to increase subscriber satisfaction, stating that since June, intra-network fixed-line calls have been free across the country. Additionally, subscribers using telecommunications internet can benefit from the platforms Filimo, Filmnet, and Rubika without paying a subscription fee.

The Governor of Sarakhs, Karim Alaei, emphasized the importance of communications in people's lives and the necessity of developing communication infrastructure in various fields. He also highlighted the importance of paying attention to villages and settlements with populations of fewer than 20 households and the development of smart solutions in various areas, including agriculture.

During this meeting, Masoudi Rad, the head of the Sarakhs telecommunications center, provided a report on the communication status of the county and mentioned the measures taken to increase network stability. He stated that in many routes of the county, overhead cables have been collected and implemented underground, which not only reduces the amount of damage but also plays a significant role in reducing the theft of telecommunications cables.
