Tabriz Refinery, as one of the key units in petroleum product production, has still not been able to purchase replacement reactors 14 months after the IsoMax incident. This delay has led to a severe reduction in the production capacity of gasoline, kerosene, diesel, and LPG in the country, causing significant damage to fuel production.
Production Decrease and Its Consequences
According to available information, the reduction in naphtha production, as the raw material for gasoline production, is estimated to be around 410,000 liters daily. Meanwhile, the production of liquefied gas, kerosene, and diesel has also sharply decreased. In a situation where the country is facing fuel imbalance and import restrictions, the incomplete operation of Tabriz Refinery means losing significant amounts of strategic products.

Why Has No Action Been Taken?
The main question is why, after 14 months since the incident, there has been no effective will or action to rebuild and purchase replacement IsoMax reactors. This is extremely concerning, and it seems that the refinery officials should be held accountable for this delay. In a situation where every liter of fuel is of special importance to the country, accountability for the damages caused by the failure to rebuild this production unit is a serious demand from its managers and shareholders.
Tabriz Refinery, as one of the main pillars in the country's fuel supply chain, needs reconstruction and modernization to return to its full production capacity. This delay in reconstruction is not only detrimental to national interests but also has economic and social consequences that must be addressed as soon as possible.
