Saudi Arabia unexpectedly lowered the price of Arab Light crude oil for Asia for November to $5 per barrel below the average prices of Oman and Dubai. This price reduction is $3 less than last month's prices and is considered the deepest drop since June 2020.
Price Reduction Against Expectations
It was expected that Saudi Arabia's crude oil prices for November would increase by $3 per barrel, but new information indicates that the price drop was unexpected given the rising benchmark prices in the Middle East. The state oil company Saudi Aramco has offered further reductions of $5 per barrel for heavier Arab crude prices such as Arab Medium and Arab Heavy to Asia.

Reasons for Price Reduction
Saudi Aramco is looking to offer discounts for oil loaded from Oman to compensate buyers against high transportation rates, which have surged due to regional tensions. This move aims to maintain Saudi Arabia's market share following negative impacts on exports due to regional conflicts.
Additionally, Saudi Aramco has increased oil prices for Northwest Europe by $3 per barrel for all grades. This price increase occurred after the resumption of exports from the Red Sea port of Yanbu. Furthermore, prices for buyers in the United States have remained unchanged.
OPEC+ Agreement
Saudi Arabia and other OPEC+ members agreed on Sunday to keep oil production targets steady for November. This aligns with expectations that no further changes in production policy will occur until next year.
