Details of the New Contract
This contract includes four ships from the Hangzhou series of Huangpu Wenchong, bringing the total number of RCL ships at this yard to 16 across three different types. Background of RCL and Huangpu Wenchong Cooperation
RCL's cooperation with Huangpu Wenchong began in 2024 when the company first ordered four ships in this class. This new contract has been signed on the same day that Huangpu Wenchong delivered the first ship from the 4,488 TEU RCL series. Additionally, this yard has also named two more ships from this series.
With this new contract, RCL adds another size of ships to its fleet, contributing 12,400 TEU to its new production line. These developments reflect RCL's desire to expand its fleet in the global shipping market and indicate that the company is seeking to increase its transport capacity.
As no information about the price and delivery date of the ships has been released, it is expected that this contract will soon impact RCL's operational performance. This move could significantly enhance the company's transport capabilities in international markets.
