Oceânica Engenharia, a Brazilian marine services company, has received a four-year contract worth approximately 354 million reais (70 million dollars) from Petrobras.
Contract Details
This contract includes specialized underwater diving services and diverless operations using remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and related equipment. Oceânica has stated that it is capable of performing work across four service fronts simultaneously, with operations expected to begin in the first half of 2027 and continue until 2031. This contract adds to the company's work history and is expected to bring its workload to around 10.3 billion reais (2.05 billion dollars).
Nature of Operations and Equipment
Oceânica has not released information about the fields or marine units of Petrobras that this contract includes. However, prior market information indicates that this contract involves underwater inspection and maintenance, and unlike many of Oceânica's larger contracts with Petrobras, it does not require a dedicated diving support vessel. Instead, divers and ROVs will be deployed directly from Petrobras's offshore production units.
This new contract adds to a series of significant works by Oceânica with Petrobras. In March, Oceânica announced a series of long-term contracts with Petrobras worth a total of 736 million dollars. These contracts will also last for four years, with operations expected to begin in the first half of 2027 and continue until 2031.
