Mohammad Sadegh Azimi Far, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, addressed the impacts of recent attacks on oil facilities and the fuel supply chain of the country during the ceremony for the 46th anniversary of the Sacred Defense Week. He mentioned that in the recent war, the country's oil and gas facilities have been targeted, stating that this issue is particularly significant in the realm of energy security and global markets.

Attacks and Damage to Facilities

Azimi Far continued his remarks by saying: "We may have been one of the first places to be hit. Our refineries, including the Persian Gulf Star Refinery and the Bandar Abbas Refinery, were attacked. On the 16th of Esfand, the oil depots in Tehran and Alborz provinces and the product transfer facilities were also hit."

The CEO of the National Oil Refining and Distribution Company stated that a wide chain of oil facilities has been affected, adding: "The enemy had only one goal in attacking our facilities, which was to put the resistance of the nation and the country in a position of weakness; however, the truth is that the efforts of our colleagues in the refining industry and various sectors prevented the realization of these goals."

Fuel Supply in Critical Conditions

Azimi Far also referred to the incidents that occurred in Hormozgan province, saying: "In Hormozgan, the communication bridges to the province were hit. One of the images that became very global was of an oil tanker that was hit on a bridge." He emphasized that the employees of the refining and distribution industry risk their lives to continue supplying fuel to the people.

He also mentioned the predictions made by the enemies, stating: "The enemy had predicted that fuel supply would stop within 72 hours; however, thanks to the efforts of our colleagues, there was no delay in the distribution of fuel across the country."

Azimi Far referred to the night of the attack on the oil depots, saying: "On that night, a fierce battle took place to secure fuel, and despite the damages incurred, our colleagues managed to distribute 90 million liters of products."

He concluded by emphasizing: "The jihad that our colleagues undertook within 72 hours in the refineries and the National Distribution Company will be recorded in the history of the country's refining industry, and one day the untold stories of that jihad will be shared."
