CENTCOM (United States Central Command) has announced that in the past six months, over 1.5 billion barrels of crude oil have passed through the Strait of Hormuz. This operation was carried out with the support and backing of American forces and in cooperation with Gulf partners. Admiral Brad Cooper, the commander of CENTCOM, emphasized the United States' commitment to maintaining freedom of navigation in this strategic waterway during his visit to the Strait of Hormuz.

Admiral Cooper's Visit to the Strait of Hormuz

On Sunday, Admiral Brad Cooper assessed the current operational environment by flying over the Strait of Hormuz. During this visit, he stated, "We continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with our regional partners in the Gulf and the shipping industry." These remarks reflect the United States' ongoing commitment to maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz and cooperation with allied countries in the region.

The Impact of Mine Clearance Operations on Maritime Security

CENTCOM also stated that in recent months, over three thousand commercial vessels have successfully passed through the Strait of Hormuz with the support of CENTCOM forces. Since the successful clearance of international shipping lanes in this area from sea mines laid by the Revolutionary Guard, the process of stabilizing security has accelerated. Admiral Cooper announced, "Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of our forces, the main transit routes in the Strait of Hormuz remain free of Iranian sea mines today."

He also referred to cooperation with U.S. inter-agency organizations and the Gulf Cooperation Council to maintain the flow of commercial traffic and emphasized that over 95 percent of the vessels that have navigated through the Strait of Hormuz have passed safely. This statistic clearly indicates that the United States and regional partners have control over this international waterway.
