Mohammad Javad Tashakori, Deputy for Planning and Economic Affairs of the Agricultural Jihad Organization of North Khorasan, announced that in order to ensure the sustainability of agricultural production in the province and to counter energy imbalance, 10 trillion rials have been allocated for updating the equipment of production units. This decision is aimed at preventing energy crises during the cold season, especially regarding the fuel supply for greenhouses, poultry farms, and other essential production units.
Provision of alternative fuel and necessary equipment
Tashakori emphasized that each production unit must have at least one secondary fuel storage tank with a capacity of 10,000 liters, heaters, and suitable burners to ensure that their production does not stop in case of gas limitations. The main fuel for greenhouses and poultry farms in the province is gas, and in recent years, they have also faced issues such as power outages. Therefore, securing alternative fuel and necessary equipment for sustainable production is of special importance.

Planning to supply 8 million liters of fuel
The Deputy for Planning and Economic Affairs of the Agricultural Jihad Organization of North Khorasan also announced plans to supply eight million liters of alternative fuel for the province's production units. This fuel is intended for units such as greenhouses, poultry farms, and bakeries ahead of the cold season. Currently, 2,500 production units in various agricultural sectors in North Khorasan are active, which significantly rely on gas for their energy needs.
Tashakori pointed out the high sensitivity of greenhouses and poultry farms compared to other production units, stressing that these units require continuous energy to maintain suitable production conditions. He also referred to recent experiences regarding energy imbalance and reminded that last cold season, there were periods of gas limitations that affected agricultural production.
According to him, the existing facilities in many units are only designed to cope with a few hours of power outages, and to face gas limitations over longer periods, there is a need for more equipment and facilities. Tashakori noted that banks can facilitate the equipping of production units by providing loans, thereby helping to sustain agricultural production in the province.
