Malek Shariati Niyasar, a member of the Energy Commission of the Parliament, emphasized the need for self-sufficiency in industries to reduce energy imbalance during a visit to Mobarakeh Steel. According to him, this approach has gained more importance especially after recent attacks on the country's industries and can help achieve long-term national goals.
Achievements of Mobarakeh Steel and the Importance of Self-Sufficiency
Shariati Niyasar, referring to the industrial achievements of the country, noted that Mobarakeh Steel has moved beyond the design and construction phase and is now operating at several times its nominal capacity. He considered this success a symbol of self-belief and the scientific and technological capabilities of Iran's youth, introducing it as a suitable model for future generations.

The representative of the people of Tehran in the Islamic Consultative Assembly added that these successes have arisen due to continuous efforts in the reconstruction and revitalization of the country's industries after foreign attacks and demonstrate the country's firm determination to achieve industrial independence.
Parliament's Programs to Support Industries
Shariati Niyasar further referred to the programs of the Energy Commission and said: "The Parliament is striving to assist industries through necessary legislation and support so that they do not face problems in winter. One of the most important actions in this regard is the provisions outlined in the seventh development plan law."
He specified that in Article 15 of this law, large industries are allowed to benefit from the extracted gas if they invest in the country's gas fields. This action not only helps reduce energy imbalance but also continuously provides the fuel and feedstock needed for large industries.
Shariati Niyasar also referred to the provision of electricity for industries and stated that the development of self-sufficient power plants, including fossil, combined cycle, and renewable power plants, is among the obligations set for industries. The goal of these programs is to ensure reliable electricity supply for industries and prevent power outages.
He pointed to Mobarakeh Steel's leadership in this area and said: "The Mobarakeh Steel Group has taken significant steps in supplying 600 megawatts of electricity, and we hope this path continues with greater speed." Shariati Niyasar concluded by expressing hope that we will witness the completion and operation of all phases of this power plant, thereby minimizing energy imbalance in the country's industries.
