Energy Commission's Plans for Securing Energy for Industries
He continued by mentioning the Energy Commission's plan to take short-term, medium-term, and long-term actions to prevent energy problems in winter, stating: "The Parliament is working to support the industrial and production sectors of the country through necessary legislation. One of the most important actions is the provisions outlined in the Seventh Progress Program law."
Shariati Niasar referred to Article 15 of this law, which allows large industries to utilize gas extracted from the country's gas fields if they invest in them. This legal capacity can help reduce the energy imbalance in the country and ensure a continuous supply of fuel and feedstock for large industries.
Development of Self-Sufficient Power Plants
The parliament representative added: "A similar approach is being pursued in the field of electricity supply. The development of self-sufficient power plants, including fossil, combined cycle, and renewable power plants, is among the responsibilities we have set for industries. The goal is for industries to reliably secure their electricity needs and avoid power outages and energy imbalances."
Shariati Niasar pointed to Mobarakeh Steel Group's leadership in this area, stating: "This group has pursued a plan to secure 600 megawatts of electricity. We hope this path will develop further, and we will witness the completion and operation of all phases of this power plant at a faster pace."
