Mahdi Qamsarian, the CEO of the Body Injury Compensation Fund, warned in a press conference about the consequences of not issuing motorcycle licenses for women. Despite a government resolution from February 2025 that mandates the police to issue licenses for women, the police have yet to take any action in this regard. This issue could have serious consequences for female motorcyclists.

Legal and Financial Consequences

Qamsarian stated that an accident can have two simultaneous consequences for female motorcyclists, saying: "These consequences include the responsibility to compensate others and bearing the costs of their own injuries." In the years 2024 and 2025, a total of 70 compensation cases have been filed for female motorcyclists who were involved in accidents. This statistic highlights the urgent need for issuing licenses and oversight in this area.

Accident Statistics and Age of Female Motorcyclists

The CEO of the Body Injury Compensation Fund also pointed out a noteworthy issue. Among the 70 compensation cases, 16 of the female motorcyclists had compensation cases under the age of 16. Most accidents involving women were injuries, and since the drivers were found at fault, the payment of blood money and damages fell on them. This situation not only places a financial burden on the at-fault drivers but can also have social and psychological consequences.

Qamsarian emphasized that the lack of license issuance for women means ignoring their legal rights and could pose greater risks for this segment of society. He urged the police to act as soon as possible to issue licenses for women to prevent unfortunate incidents.
