Mahdi Jamali Nejad unveiled the strategic energy document of the province with a 10-year perspective at the one hundred sixty-eighth meeting of the Dialogue Council of the Government and the Private Sector of Isfahan. This document has been developed to create coordination among policies and executive programs in the energy sector.
Goals and Key Areas of the Strategic Energy Document
The strategic energy document of Isfahan aims to outline the future path for energy supply, management, and consumption in the province. This roadmap specifies the province's priorities in energy resource management and facilitates greater cooperation among the government, private sector, scientific centers, and specialized organizations.
The key areas of focus in this document include reforming energy governance and economic structure, increasing efficiency, controlling and managing energy consumption, expanding renewable energy, securing financial resources, and strengthening energy storage and exchange infrastructure. Additionally, enhancing regulatory mechanisms and establishing a monitoring system to evaluate the performance of the energy sector are among the topics anticipated in this document.
Challenges and Barriers to Energy Development
The document's developers have identified a range of obstacles and issues in this sector by examining the current situation. Energy imbalance, difficulties in securing financial resources, barriers facing investors, contracting issues, low efficiency, and limited access to new technologies are among the challenges considered in designing the province's strategies, and solutions have been proposed to address them.
In this regard, the participation of scientific and specialized centers in drafting the energy document of Isfahan has been formed with the presence of the Isfahan Science and Technology Town, Governance Think Tank, Elite Foundation, and stakeholders in the electricity and gas sectors. This participation has been conducted through expert meetings and collecting written views and suggestions to ensure that the opinions of practitioners and specialists in this field are taken into account in determining the future energy path of the province.
The Governor of Isfahan has also emphasized the necessity of following up on the resolutions and proposals made, calling for strengthened cooperation among executive agencies, the banking system, and the private sector to achieve practical results and advance the province's development programs.
Jamali Nejad, recalling the importance of paying attention to the less recognized capacities of the province, called for the utilization of existing opportunities in various sectors. Creating a suitable environment for holding diverse events in tourism and industry can help strengthen the province's economic capacities.
Ultimately, the first five-year program of this document will be developed with the focus of the Provincial Management and Planning Organization and in cooperation with executive agencies to define the established priorities in the form of specific and executable programs.
