Jade Pacific Line (JPL) has recently joined the world of shipping and launched new services in the container shipping sector. Established in April of this year, the company has begun its first service aimed at connecting India, Pakistan, and the shores of the Red Sea in Egypt.
Details of the New Services
Jade Pacific Line, using its 1100 TEU tanker named Medkon Sia, has created a new rotation between the ports of Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Karachi, and Sokhna, returning to Mundra afterward. These new services commenced on September 25 and will operate on an irregular schedule of 30 to 35 days, instead of a fixed weekly frequency.

Implications and International Relations
This shipping operation directly provides communication between the two largest container gateways in India and the main port of Pakistan, which could have profound impacts on regional trade. Additionally, the port of Sokhna plays a significant role in facilitating international trade as one of the main terminals of the Suez Canal and the interior regions of Egypt.
Jade Pacific Line is somewhat collaborating with container operators associated with China, such as Ocean Silk Line (OSL) and OVP Shipping, with OSL holding 30 percent of the shares in this newly established company. This collaboration could pave the way for further development of trade and shipping networks in the region.
